Job Opportunity Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced operating room nurse to join our team on a contractual basis. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in various surgical specialties, specifically cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery. This role involves working four 10-hour shifts with rotating days off and may include call requirements.

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 4x10 hours
• Rotating day off
• Call requirements:
  Up to 2 overnights per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the operating room, with a focus on cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases.
• Assist in general surgery cases if not assigned to cardiac procedures.
• Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system efficiently.
• Scrub for open heart surgeries and ensure adherence to surgical protocols.

• Minimum of 24 months of current operating room experience.
• Proficient in circulating and operating room procedures for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgeries.
• Basic general surgery circulating experience is required.
• EPIC electronic medical system experience within the last 3 years.
• Trauma Level I or II experience is highly preferred.
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the last 12 months.
• Required scrub experience, particularly in open heart procedures.

• Must possess an active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license.
• Current BLS certification from AHA or ARC/American Red Cross.
• Driver’s license documentation is required.
