Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required
Certifications:
BLS (American Heart Association)
Must-Have:
- Strong proficient experience in Cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery
- Basic general surgery circulating experience required
- Scrub experience needed, including open-heart scrubbing
- EPIC electronic medical record systems experience within the previous three years required
- Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
- Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
- Previous travel experience within the last 12 months required
Description:
The registered nurse will work in the cardiovascular operating room.
The average caseload is 35-50 cases per day.
The expectation for turnover times is less than 20 minutes.
The unit operates 16 operating rooms, running 12-14 routinely.
As a level 1 trauma center, space is reserved for trauma cases.
Patient types include cardiac, neuro, orthopedic (primarily trauma), robotic surgeries, gynecology, urology, general procedures, pediatrics, and transplants.
Experience in da Vinci robotics, trauma, neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, and transplants is preferred.
The registered nurse may be required to float across campuses.
This role includes call responsibilities, with overnight and weekend call requirements.
All candidates must submit a work history/resume that reflects the required experience.
Professional references should include a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director.
