Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in Iowa, requiring at least 24 months of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience, recent travel experience, and Epic proficiency.
Responsibilities- 22-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- General med/surg patient population with a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Heparin drip management required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Floating required across multiple campuses (Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist)
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Travelers must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays:
Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving - Time-off requests during the Thanksgiving week (11/26–11/30) and winter holiday period (12/23–1/2) are limited to 1 day per period
- Candidates employed by this facility within the past 12 months may not be eligible for this position
- Active IA RN license or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- De-escalation certification required (MAB, MOAB, CPI, or SAMA); may be obtained during onboarding
- Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg and/or Telemetry RN experience required
- Travel nursing experience within the past 18 months required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
- One supervisory performance evaluation or professional reference from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Driver's license required for consideration
