- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2870–$3020/week
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
- Job Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at a Level 1 Trauma Center
- Shifts: 4 x 10-hour days (Mon–Fri, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM) with a rotating day off
- On-Call: Up to 2 overnight calls per week and 4 weekends per 13-week contract (weekend call Fri 5 PM – Mon 6:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Scrubs: Provided
- EMR: EPIC (recent EPIC experience required)
Job Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license (required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience within the last 24 months (travel RN experience preferred)
- Strong, hands-on experience in Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic cases (CVOR Registered Nurse / cardiac OR experience required)
- Scrub experience including open heart scrubbing (required)
- General Surgery circulating experience (required)
- EPIC EMR experience within the last 3 years (required)
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC (required)
- Previous travel assignment completed within the last 12 months (no first-time travelers)
- Trauma Level I or II experience highly preferred (experience in Level 1 Trauma Center environments)
- Ability to float across multiple campuses as needed (Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran)
- Professional reference from a supervisor/manager within the last 24 months (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Circulate and scrub for a broad case mix: cardiac (including open heart), vascular, thoracic, trauma, neurosurgery, ortho trauma, gynecology, urology, transplant, plastics, ENT, and pediatrics
- Perform efficient room turnovers (expectation < 20 minutes) to support high surgical throughput
- Utilize advanced surgical technology including DaVinci robotic systems, Stealth neuro navigation, and Synthes/Stryker ortho trauma equipment
- Deliver high-quality perioperative patient care in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment
- Float between Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran campuses as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation including overnight and weekend coverage
- Document all care, procedures, and perioperative notes accurately using EPIC EMR
