• Integrate UnityPoint Health Des Moines Nursing Expectations of Performance into all aspects of care delivery and professional practice.
• Contribute to maintaining high‑quality, cost‑effective services aligned with user needs and hospital budgetary guidelines.
• Provide clinical leadership by directing, coordinating, and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility.
• Act as an inter‑departmental liaison promoting effective multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health‑care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Remain competent and available to participate in patient care pertinent to clinical specialty.
• Maintain awareness of applicable laws and regulations affecting patient care.
• Assist in developing policy/procedure and guidelines for safe, efficient operation of the department as needed.
• Assist in developing the annual budget and take appropriate action to maintain financial control of department resources.
• Implement evidence‑based practice strategies to meet patient care needs.
• Interview, orient, train, schedule, evaluate, discipline, and terminate staff with appropriate input.

• Registered Nurse with active RN license.
• Ready to achieve BSN within 3 years.
• One year as a registered nurse.
• Current Iowa RN license.
• Current BCLS (CPR).
• Valid driver’s license for work‑related vehicle use.
