ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic cardiology team at the Methodist Hospital Specialty Clinic. This is a great opportunity for nurses who are passionate about patient-centered care and interested in developing their skills in the cardiology specialty. Whether you bring prior experience in cardiology or are looking to expand your clinical knowledge in this field, we welcome your application.
In this role, you will help triage and assess patient needs, coordinate care, and support patients and families as they navigate complex cardiac conditions. You’ll work closely with experienced cardiologists and healthcare professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Patient Assessment & Triage
• Evaluate incoming patient phone calls to determine the urgency of symptoms and appropriate next steps.
• Provide telephone triage and guide patients to the right level of care or follow-up. - Care Coordination
• Assist in coordinating urgent and emergent care for patients with acute cardiac issues (e.g., chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, hypertension, heart failure symptoms).
• Communicate efficiently with cardiologists and clinical team members to ensure timely and effective care. - Patient & Family Education
• Educate patients and caregivers on cardiac conditions, treatments, and home care strategies.
• Offer ongoing support and resources tailored to each patient’s needs. - Clinical Documentation & Follow-Up
• Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans using the electronic health record (EHR).
• Track patient outcomes and coordinate follow-up care to ensure continuity.

Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
•
Experience: All levels of RN experience will be considered. Prior experience in cardiology or specialty care is a plus, but not required.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
