Shifts available:
Full-Time Day/Night rotation;
Full-Time Nights 7pm-7:30am;
Part-Time Evenings 3pm-11:30pm;
Part-Time Day/Night rotation. Weekend and holiday rotation included. $10,000 Sign-on Bonus for Full-Time positions.

Provides care for critically ill patients in a 36-bed mixed critical care unit within a level 1 critical care setting. The RN is the primary caregiver for patients including trauma, open heart, renal, cardiac, pulmonary, general surgery, sepsis and general medical cases. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RN contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families.

Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses and UnityPoint Health’s Professional Nurse Practice Model, in collaboration with other care givers. Acts in accordance with DNV Primary Stroke Center guidelines and educational requirements therein.

• Provide and coordinate nursing care to patients using the nursing process
• Complete documentation to maintain accurate patient care records
• Utilize critical thinking to make independent clinical judgments and maintain responsibility for patient conditions
• Collaborate with physicians and other professionals to plan and implement care within hospital policies and legal requirements
• Assess patient and family needs, provide appropriate teaching to facilitate discharge planning, and refer to community services to ensure continuity of care
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development by staying current with nursing practice and healthcare trends

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or IA Board of Nursing-approved program
• Licensure/Certification: Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa
• Experience: Minimum of six months acute RN experience

Level 3 Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
