Travel Nurse Job Details
- Location: Des Moines, IA 50309 (Iowa nursing jobs)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
- Setting: Operating Room (OR) - Level I Trauma Center
- Start Date: December 15, 2025
- End Date: March 16, 2026
- Duration: 13-week contract
- Shift: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 10-hour days
- Hours per Week: 40
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,310 - $2,470
- On Call: Up to 1 overnight per week and 3 weekends per contract (Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 6:30 AM)
- Floating: Required across all campuses
- Scrubs: Provided
- Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience
- Proficient circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
- Experience with general, robotics, pediatrics, and trauma surgical cases
- Level I trauma center experience required
- EPIC EMR proficiency within the past 3 years
- At least one completed travel nurse assignment in the past 12 months
- Ability to float to multiple campuses as needed
- Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to diverse patient populations
- Circulate and, if qualified, scrub in a variety of surgical cases: general, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, neuro, ortho (trauma), gyn, uro, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Participate in call rotation and respond to emergent surgical needs
- Support efficient operating room turnovers (goal: less than 20 minutes)
- Float to other campuses as needed to support patient care
