Full Time Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 paid over 2 years
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to child and adolescent mental health patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other caregivers.
Maintains a safe, therapeutic milieu and utilizes therapeutic communication skills to facilitate patient and family recovery from mental health crises.

ResponsibilitiesApplications are accepted year-round, but we encourage you to apply during your last semester of nursing school. Start dates depend on licensure, onboarding, unit availability, and your personal preference.
All newly licensed RNs with less than six months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Newly licensed nurses must apply for the Registered Nurse Residency position.

Responsibilities:
Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families, maintaining a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health-Des Moines, within the Professional Nurse Practice Model, in collaboration with other caregivers.

Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Newly licensed nurse within the last 6 months or less than 6 months of acute RN experience.
- Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
- Completion of the residency program within the first 12 months of employment.
- Dept of Labor Level III Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
