Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN with at least 2 years of Med/Surg and pulmonary experience for a floating contract in Iowa.
Responsibilities- Work primarily with pulmonary/Med Surg patients in a hospital setting
- Unit features 23 beds and may involve caring for COVID-positive patients
- Care for patients requiring drips such as heparin and experience with bi-pap and trach care is highly preferred
- Travelers will be required to float across multiple campuses
- Epic EMR system is used and familiarity is expected
- Responsibilities include caring for pulmonary, ventilated, and trach care patients on a busy Med/Surg unit
- First-time travelers will be considered if all minimum experience requirements are met
- May be required to care for COVID-positive patients
- Travelers may be required to work a mix of holidays and follow hospital policy for limited time-off requests during peak holiday periods
- Active Iowa or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent Med Surg experience required
- Direct experience with pulmonary patient care required
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications are required
- Must provide a current driver’s license
- Med/Surg specific skills checklist required
- Professional reference from a charge, supervisor, or nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within the last 2 years preferred
