Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring recent travel experience, strong post-op care skills, and an active IA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities

• Work in a Med/Surg unit withbeds based on census

• Patient population includes general medical, post-operative, gynecology, breast, and ENT/OTO cases

• Nurse to patient ratio ranges from 1:4-6 on days and 1:5-6 on nights

• Involves drips and medication administration, including heparin

• Float required across multiple campuses

• Epic EMR is used and experience is required

• Holiday coverage required for 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)

• Will care for a diverse med/surg patient population including post-op and specialty surgical patients

• Travelers will be scheduled across all campuses as needed based on staffing

• RTO is limited to one day betweenandand between and 1/2 regardless of holidays worked

• Proof of active license and certifications required at the time of consideration

• Candidates who have worked for the client within the past 12 months may not be eligible
Requirements

• Active Iowa or compact RN license required

• BLS certification (AHA) required

• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience, including post-op/surgical care in general, gynecology, breast, and ENT/OTO

• Epic EMR experience required

• Must have completed at least one travel contract in the past 12 months

• No first-time travelers will be considered

• Must provide a recent supervisory reference from within the last 2 years
