Position
Purpose:
Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for managing patient care and treatment in collaboration with the physician. The nature of the position allows the Nurse Practitioner the opportunity to apply his/her medical training across a broad spectrum of clinical areas thus avoiding the narrow focus of many other medical environments.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Nurse Practitioner performs health assessments and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines and physician instructions.
- Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs.
- Nurse Practitioner will discuss case with physician.
- Formulates and documents care plan.
- Prescribes medication or other forms of treatment.
- Participates in On-Call program which may include after-hours, weekend and holiday calls and visitations
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Nursing with emphasis in Family, Adult, or Gerontological practice.
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in State of Iowa
- 2-5 years of experience working in acute care settings such as ICU, CCU, Telemetry, or med-surgical unit
- National Board Certification and DEA license.
Hours for this Position:
Clinical setting:
Monday – Friday 8am – 5 pm or 10 am – 7 pm.
