Overview
Supervisor Nursing Services-Intensive Care Unit role at UnityPoint Health.
Location:
Johnston, IA. Salary range: $45,000.00-$65,000.00. This position assists in managing the day to day operations of the unit utilizing quality, cost effective patient care principles. Supervises, supports and develops unit staff, using a holistic approach to patient care across age groups served in the unit.
- Manages daily operations of patient care. Contributes to the maintenance of high quality, cost effective services consistent with the needs of the users and the hospital’s budgetary guidelines.
- Provides clinical leadership by directing, coordinating and delegating patient care in an organized manner, allowing for flexibility.
- Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Remains competent and available to participate in patient care pertinent to clinical specialty.
- Demonstrates personal and professional growth and promotes the same among team members.
- Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting patient care. Keeps current on changes, recognizes implications to the organization and recommends courses of action to ensure compliance.
- Assists in the development of policy/procedure and guidelines for safe, efficient operation of the department as needed.
- Assists in developing annual budget, and takes appropriate action to maintain control of department financial resources.
- Implements evidence-based practice strategies to meet patient care needs. Aids in achieving quality improvement objectives and makes necessary modifications for attainment of goals.
- Interviews, orients, trains, schedules, evaluates, disciplines, and terminates staff with appropriate input. Demonstrates fair and consistent application of personnel policies/procedures.
- Instructs and leads staff to maintain a high level of productivity, problem solving as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree
- One year experience as a registered nurse
- Current Iowa License as a registered nurse
- Current BCLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN)
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) and/or Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) certification
