Job SummaryAre you the type of person who has a passion for machining and using your skills to develop the next generation of machinists? In this role you will assist the recruiting team in the hiring process by using established assessments to evaluate potential candidates, train new and existing Vermeer machinists, and perform quality assurance audits throughout the plant. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about ensuring Vermeer quality standards are met in our machining processes, as well as team member development and engagement.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Facilitate machining training curriculum including measurement training, blueprint reading, tooling, and other machining processes per Vermeer standards. Maintain a professional learning environment in both classroom and production floor training.
- Monitor and assess team members against established performance standards for Vermeer machinists. Utilize hands on assessments with tools and hardware. Provide coaching and feedback to team members based on assessment.
- Evaluate potential candidates using established assessments to assist recruiting in the hiring process and developing talent in the organization.
- Assist when needed with various machining activities including machine set ups, quality audits, control plan checks, and operating machines in production as needed.
- High school Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years machining experience; and/or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge and ability to set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to, CNC machining centers and lathes, press brakes and lasers.
- Ability to hold team members accountable to Vermeer safety and quality standards.
- Occasional travel is expected for this position.
ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
