Position SummaryThe Operations Manager will oversee production activities across three shifts for our canning lines, ensuring efficient operations, product quality, and alignment with business objectives. This role works cross‑functionally to manage resources, coordinate production activities, and support continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to on‑time delivery, operational efficiency, and overall manufacturing success.

- Meets all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements; participate in food safety meetings as required.
- Cultivates and promotes a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety meetings as required.
- Collaborating closely with the Quality team to monitor product standards, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high-quality output.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the canning line across all three shifts, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to optimize equipment utilization, minimize downtime, and ensure smooth workflow.
- Monitor production performance, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with supply chain, planning, and procurement teams to ensure materials and resources are available to meet production demands.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance, including the implementation and optimization of key processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production staff across all shifts to maintain high levels of engagement, performance, and accountability.
- Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency, quality, and employee productivity.
- Participate in new equipment evaluation, installation, and commissioning to improve manufacturing capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 3‑5 years of experience in a manager‑level role.
- Proven experience overseeing multiple shifts, managing teams, and coordinating production activities.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems is a plus.
- This is a regular, full-time position requiring on-site presence.
- The role includes managing multiple shifts, collaborating with production teams, and participating in operational meetings.
- Work will be performed in both a warehouse and office setting.
- This position requires long periods of sitting/working at a computer, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
- The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, extreme noise, visual strain, confined spaces, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
- The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds many times per day, while occasionally move items up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
