Epitec is seeking to add an Experimental Parts Procurement Coordinator to support experimental manufacturing operations for our client in Des Moines IA on an open contract basis
. This role plays a critical part in ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, and smooth production flow for experimental builds.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically inclined, and comfortable working cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

🔹 What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Coordinate the flow of materials across multiple factory departments, including shipping and receiving
  • Ensure production teams have the parts needed to meet build schedules
  • Create and edit manufacturing routings for experimental builds
  • Generate and troubleshoot fabrication programs
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future material needs
  • Transfer stock between departments while maintaining accurate records
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and material shortages
  • Work critical shortage reports and expedite parts as needed
  • Utilize the Master Schedule to create and distribute daily production schedules
  • Support engineering release and change management processes
  • Prepare and maintain daily and weekly Excel‑based reports
  • Collaborate with Supply Management on purchased parts
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with laser programs and manufacturing routings
  • Occasionally design or model simple parts for shop use
  • May provide work direction to hourly material handlers or stock chasers

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Pre‑Engineering, Manufacturing/Engineering Technology, CAD, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings/prints
  • Experience with CREO and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with SAP and Power BI
  • Knowledge of inventory management practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving ability
  • High level of computer literacy and comfort with technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with sheet metal or fabrication processes
  • Positive, proactive, and upbeat attitude
  • Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the near future
  • Overtime may be required based on business needs
