Job Title:
Quality Assurance
As a Quality Assurance professional, you will inspect structural steel parts and assemblies during both pre-fabrication and post-fabrication stages. Your role includes maintaining formal documentation of all quality occurrences for improvement and training. You will be responsible for implementing and following the 5S organizational methodology and ensuring products are marked according to Quality Control documentation.
Responsibilities- Conduct pre-fabrication and post-fabrication inspections.
- Maintain documentation of inspections, drawing corrections, and calibration tests.
- Inform management about any nonconformities or equipment issues.
- Collaborate with management to ensure all Quality Control duties are completed.
- Work with production personnel to meet and exceed product quality standards.
- Support safety and production programs.
- Perform housekeeping responsibilities.
- Quality control expertise
- Experience with pre-fabrication and post-fabrication inspections
- Ability to make shop drawing corrections
- Proficiency in tape measure and mill tester calibration
- Experience in conducting stud welding tests
- Attention to detail

Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years in the structural steel industry or related welding/fabrication industry
- Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, lift up to 75 lbs, crawl, and climb ladders
- Proficiency in AWS D1.1 welding standards is a long-term goal
- Mastery in documentation of Quality Control testing and inspection records is desired
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings

Work EnvironmentThis role is based at a new metal fabrication shop with approximately 30 people. The facility can be dirtier due to the nature of the work. Work hours start at 7 am but may vary based on job requirements, with most Fridays ending around 2 pm. Candidates should be flexible with their schedule. The position is fully on-site in Carlisle, Iowa, with shifts from 6 am to 2:30 pm or 6 pm to 6 am, Monday through Friday.
