Cylinder Handler Loader - Des Moines, IA

Position Summary

This position is responsible for loading and unloading cylinders on vehicles, shipping and receiving of cylinders, cylinder staging and limited customer service. To include moving cylinders to other designated destinations along with ensuring the accuracy and safety of the product. Reports to Site or Operations Manager/Supervisor and interacts with customers, sales, management and other operations personnel.

• Loading and unloading cylinders on assigned trucks or tractors or other designated areas, checking identification, labels, valves, styles and ensuring the cylinder needs to be filled or should remain empty, and checking for paints or marks following required procedures to insure safe storage of all cylinder products.
• Securing all loads prior deliveries: checking strapping, location of cylinder in vehicle, ensuring the correct cylinders are loaded, and verifying all cylinders have been checked and have proper tags.
• Material handling of cylinders both manually using dollies, carts and forklifts. Ability to transport vehicles such as trucks, tractors, forklifts, and cylinder carts requiring different dock locations when loading or unloading trucks or tractors.
• Housekeeping duties for both safety and appearance purposes.
• Notifying the supervisor of quality assurance problems.
• Following all safety procedures and policies to insure the safety of any equipment, containers, or materials.
• Performing other projects and duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or GED.

Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
