Job DescriptionResponsible for supporting corporate safety direction, implementing best practices and measuring performance and adherence to these policies and programs in the service, construction and facility operations.
What You’ll Do- 15%: Identify potential risks and ensure regulatory compliance, assist to develop and implement strategies to reduce or eliminate risk.
- 15%: Promote safety awareness through communications, training, presenting to co-workers, remain up to date with regulatory changes and update SOPs as needed.
- 10%: Participate in corporate safety meetings with other safety professionals and leadership at times.
- 10%: Track and communicate KPI’s (TRIR, DART, leading indicators etc.), handle recordkeeping requirements for your region or division.
- 10%: Lead monthly safety committee meetings, produce and deliver tailgate discussions/toolbox talks to the front line workers.
- 10%: Review completed audits by field team leaders, participate in coaching/driving field team leaders for safety engagement.
- 10%: Delivering corrective action course to employees or managers of employees who violate safety protocol, perform investigations on workplace accidents and complaints.
- 10%: Immediate response to safety needs- accident investigation, clientele meetings, and any other safety functions.
- 5%: Reporting/managing insurance claims
- 5%: Leads safety committee meetings
Works in a seated position for extended periods of time. Occasionally works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
What We’re Looking For EducationRequires High School diploma or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Environmental Science or related fields are preferred.
Experience4+ years of construction site leadership experience required.
Licenses/CertificationsHAZWOPER 40 certification, Driver's license, State-issued UST installer license preferred, all required upon hire.
Technical AbilitiesStrong organizational and communications skills, including ability to negotiate. Good mathematical and record keeping skills. Ability to identify parts and equipment unique to petroleum tanks and underground storage tank industry. Ability to coordinate and review the work of others. Basic computer skills. Demonstrated skill in project planning and management.
Autonomy/DirectionTakes performance expectations from senior leaders and directs the work of others to meet expectations. Works with little to no supervision and is required to demonstrate high-level decision-making including personnel decisions.
Physical/Mental ExertionAbility to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping.
