About this Role

Ampacity is hiring a Lead Pack Kitting Associate – Electrical for our Des Moines Distribution Center. This leadership role focuses on electrical wire processing, order fulfillment, and team coordination. The Electrical Warehouse Lead will oversee daily warehouse operations, including cutting wire to customer-specified lengths using specialized industrial equipment, picking and packing electrical materials, assembling kits for electrical projects, and ensuring inventory accuracy.

This position will guide warehouse associates, maintain workflow efficiency, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Pay Range: $21-$23 per hour

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and coordinate warehouse team activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Measure, cut, and label electrical wire using specialized industrial equipment.
  • Oversee picking, packing, and shipping of electrical material orders.
  • Supervise assembly of electrical component kits per specifications.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and manage stock levels.
  • Operate forklifts and train team members on proper equipment use.
  • Enforce safety protocols, including OSHA compliance, and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Production Lead and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Assist with same-day deliveries when possible.
  • Perform other leadership and operational duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring
  • 2+ years of warehouse experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Electrical industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately.
  • Forklift experience (certification preferred).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems and logistics software.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Physical Expectations

  • Indoor warehouse facility with regular exposure to dust, fumes, odors, varying temperatures, and machinery noise.
  • Fast-paced environment with heavy machinery operation including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.

Physical Expectations

  • Intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting materials up to 50+ pounds.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, push, and pull equipment throughout the facility from floor to overhead storage areas.
