The District Service Manager will operate from Kansas City, De Moines, or Blaine, and will work under the guidance of the Regional Service Director to lead a regional team in driving operational strategies that align with Clean Earth’s culture and long‑term goals. The role provides direct oversight of multiple Service Centers throughout the region, ensuring all locations meet or exceed environmental health and safety, regulatory compliance, production, financial, and waste management goals.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
  • Coaching and developing managers and supervisors, providing continuous feedback, and conducting performance appraisals to align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Making recommendations and approvals on salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
  • Supporting recruitment and hiring of field leadership and drivers.
  • Conducting regular meetings to inform teams of current issues, procedural changes, and new developments.
  • Overseeing selection, training, and development of a diverse, efficient workforce.
  • Providing technical support to field staff and managers, and assisting in technical training deployment.
  • Staying current on regulations and industry developments.
Safety, Security, & Compliance
  • Promoting safety and security initiatives across the district.
  • Communicating and training on safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Initiating actions to resolve identified hazards or unsafe conditions.
Customer Experience Management
  • Supporting the sales department in new account implementation, service presentation, and technical support.
  • Collaborating with commercial to maintain and monitor existing customer relationships.
  • Driving superior customer satisfaction through SLA and KPI adherence.
  • Acting with urgency to resolve customer issues and grow business within the district.
Operational Excellence
  • Communicating continual improvement of productivity standards and safety across all operation phases.
Route Management
  • Overseeing route management processes to align with company safety and regulatory requirements, including LTL, Bulk/FTL, pre‑service, and post‑service execution.
  • Developing and managing routes for efficient waste collection and transportation.
Technical Services Management
  • Managing HHW onsite programs and lab pack programs to align with company goals and regulatory requirements.
Service Center Management
  • Ensuring alignment of facility, supply, and asset management processes with company goals.
  • Managing P&L to achieve financial performance.
  • Maintaining 10‑day management processes that align with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
Additional Duties
  • Performing other related duties and/or project work as required.
Work Environment
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% by automobile, commercial airline, or public transportation.
  • Regular visits to each Service Center for direct oversight.
  • Hands‑on execution of key initiatives and activities.

Qualifications Education
  • B.S. in an environmental‑related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER training completed and current.
