Custodial Worker
Duties:
- Performs cleaning throughout building, including floors (vacuuming, shampooing, sweeping, mopping, striping, scrubbing, waxing, buffing), bathroom fixtures, light fixtures (including replacing light bulbs), windows, ceilings, walls. Use of a ladder up to 12 feet in height may be required.
- Makes beds, handles clean and soiled linens. Cleans and disinfects bedroom furniture. Moves furniture, draperies, rugs for cleaning. Reports needed repairs.
- Refills containers for soap, bathroom tissue, paper towels, etc. Collects and empties trash from receptacles.
- Delivers supplies to various areas.
- Locks/unlocks doors as required.
- Assists in unloading trucks, unpacking, assembling, and moving equipment and furniture.
- Performs duties in the immediate exterior of the building such as sweeping sidewalks, snow and ice removal at entrances, cleaning debris from grounds and window wells.
- Maintains inventory of linen and record of lined laundering; maintains inventory of custodial supplies, and keeps/prepares other records and reports as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned The tasks listed are examples of the variety and general nature of duties performed by employees. It is not intended that any position include every duty listed nor is it intended that related duties cannot be required.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions; communicate effectively with others.
- Knowledge of proper bending and lifting techniques and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as cleaning, lifting furniture, emptying trash receptacles, scrubbing, climbing up and down ladders, etc.
- Ability to work in a variety of environments including crowded public areas, and high/low temperature areas.
- Knowledge of the safe use of chemical cleaning agents and possible hazards relating to environmental sanitation.
Monday - Friday, 6:30 am-3:00 pm
