The Sr. Corporate Counsel will work on‑site at Ruan Campus in downtown Des Moines.
Responsibilities- Develop defense strategy for complex auto liability, employment, contracts, and workers’ compensation litigation across the United States.
- Select and oversee outside counsel, evaluate exposure, conduct negotiations, and represent the company at mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Oversee environmental compliance related to storage tanks (above and below ground), storm water, wastewater, hazmat, and solid waste.
- Maintain and implement environmental processes and policies; provide support for continuous improvement.
- Review and manage internal company policies, with specific oversight over legal and document retention policies.
- Conduct research and provide legal opinions to senior leaders; proactively monitor developments in relevant law and advise the company accordingly.
