About the opportunity: You will support systems/applications for multiple business areas, including analysis of low to moderate complexity system or process changes to provide business requirements for necessary modifications. You will establish and execute test cases to identify defects and assess the quality of system solution deliveries. You will coordinate and communicate with team members and stakeholders to improve and arrive at a positive member experience supporting Wellmark’s strategies.
The ideal candidate is a self‑directed, systems‑focused analyst who enjoys researching, testing, and validating how systems are configured and functioning downstream. They are naturally inquisitive, comfortable navigating multiple systems, and motivated to independently identify issues—particularly in audit and compliance‑driven work—while managing deadlines and priorities with minimal oversight.
They bring experience supporting system implementations and testing
, including early‑stage initiatives, and can confirm future‑state readiness through careful analysis and execution of test cases. A strong technical mindset focused on efficiency, automation, and adoption of new tools is key. Solid Excel skills are required, with openness to tools like Power BI for dashboarding and automation.

QualificationsRequired:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of business analysis, systems, configurations, or related experience; OR 3+ years’ health insurance operations experience (e.g. claims, customer service, membership & enrollment, etc.). Includes 2 years’ proven subject matter expertise across multiple market segments, products, benefit plans, contract language, or insurance rules and regulations
- Ability to perform, document, and or guide others through a series of related steps and takes action to improve existing conditions and processes
- Ability to identify issues or inconsistencies; obtains relevant information, relates and compares data from different sources and identifies alternative solutions
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate to team members and stakeholders. Ability to facilitate conversations with varying audiences
- Ability to intellectually learn and grow through the mentoring of experienced Business Support Analysts
- Proactive self-starter with effective time management skills and the ability to independently organize and prioritize projects/initiatives or tasks. Flexible and adaptable to change
- Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to identify and approach complex problems from different angles and apply technical knowledge to policies/procedures
- Proven efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- Understanding of health insurance concepts
