Job Description

The Quality Engineer will play a key role in advancing Quality Engineering practices and strategy across our Information Products Platform Team, which enables enterprise data engineering and large-scale data movement across the organization. This role partners closely with multiple Agile teams operating within a SAFe framework to embed quality throughout the product lifecycle.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving automated testing strategies that support complex data pipelines, integrations, and platform capabilities. This includes developing and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks, validating data quality and integrity, and enabling continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines.

Working across multiple teams, this role ensures quality is built in from concept through deployment by proactively identifying risks, improving test coverage, and promoting engineering best practices. The Quality Engineer contributes to release planning, capacity forecasting, and environment readiness while helping teams adopt modern testing approaches including automation, performance testing, test driven development, and data validation strategies.

This position champions a shift-left, automation-first mindset, drives consistency in quality standards, and helps scale test capabilities across the platform to support reliable, high-performing information products.

Qualifications

Preferred:

* 5+ years' experience in automation or performance testing as a primary responsibility

* Previous experience with quality engineering (PyTest, Selenium) in a Quality Assurance role

* Data warehouse testing experience including writing SQL queries

* Previous experience with MS Playwrite, Amazon Bedrock, and/or MS CoPilot for automation

Required:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or direct and applicable work experience

* Minimum 5 years' experience:

* Creating test plans that include test strategies, timelines, a scientific approach to estimates, demand, capacity, utilization plans and test environment planning

* Developing and executing test cases utilizing industry standard testing methodologies or processes to develop test cases, ensure test coverage of requirements, execute test cases, and log defects

* Automation or performance testing as a primary responsibility

* Experience with Agile Development

* Experience with testing tools

* Using a test management and defect management tool

* Demonstrated communication skills, including issue resolution and conflict management

* Proven ability to think strategically, and to mold testing to meet business requirements

* Highly analytical, detail oriented, and strong problem solving skills

* Strong time management and organizational skills

* Proven ability and interest in mentoring/coaching others.

Additional Information

a. Responsible for defining test plans, philosophy, and strategy in support of software releases.

b. Partner with product teams to develop and gain consensus regarding quality engineering support, and ensure standard processes meet requirements; including directing the defect management process and implementing test status reporting processes. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that quality is effectively executed throughout products.

c. Mentor and coach engineering resources in the estimating, planning, designing and execution of testing initiatives. Review testing plans and other documentation and provide input as appropriate.

d. Review estimates and timelines to coordinate any contentions. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure software quality stays on track for assigned commitments and report on status, including reporting on issues that may impact timelines or a successful delivery.

e. Work with product teams in the review of documented requirements to ensure testability, maintainability, accuracy, and consistency. Document or lead the documentation of test coverage and requirements. Review quality of test scripts against defined standards.
