Guidewire Software Engineer

This position leads the modernization and cloud transformation of enterprise insurance platforms, with a strong focus on Guidewire-based solutions. The individual will design, build, and optimize cloud-native environments that support high-volume, transaction-intensive operations while meeting strict security and compliance standards.

• Own large-scale cloud migration initiatives for Guidewire applications, following established industry and platform best practices

• Architect and deploy scalable solutions across public cloud or hybrid environments

• Ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with organizational requirements for security, resiliency, and regulatory compliance

• Tune Guidewire implementations to support high-performance, mission-critical workloads

• Lead technical design, configuration, development, and testing efforts in cloud-first environments

• Customize user interfaces, workflows, business logic, and data structures using Guidewire tools

• Build and maintain integrations with external systems such as APIs, payment platforms, rating engines, and databases

• Translate business needs into technical solutions that improve delivery efficiency and system scalability

• Mentor engineering teams on deployment pipelines, automation tools, and modern delivery practices

• Support consistent release cycles that align with enterprise schedules

• Keep up with new Guidewire cloud capabilities and promote knowledge sharing across teams

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience

• Industry-recognized Guidewire certifications are a plus

• 10+ years of overall IT experience

• 5+ years working with Guidewire Insurance Suite (particularly Policy Center and Claim Center)

• 3+ years delivering Guidewire solutions in cloud environments

• Strong experience with:

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)

  • Gosu development and Guidewire configuration tools

  • Batch processing and custom plugins

  • Java-based development

  • RESTful APIs and JSON services

  • SQL and enterprise data integration

  • Agile delivery tools (Git, CI/CD, Jira, etc.)

• Deep knowledge of Guidewire integration and messaging frameworks

• Proven ability to optimize performance in cloud-hosted systems

• Background in Property & Casualty insurance (personal and commercial lines) preferred
