The IT Architect will work on-site at Ruan Campus located downtown Des Moines, IA.
This position is a mix of infrastructure and development; working in Azure environment.
Provides technical architectural design guidance for multiple areas of technology. Leads technical architecture and design efforts for Cloud initiatives, including hands on development of core capabilities that are shared across multiple teams. Partners with architecture team to build and improve the technical foundation that supports Ruan platforms.

• Set strategic direction and develop multi-year roadmaps for strategic initiatives, areas of technology such as database, network, applications, systems, security, and business knowledge.
• Ensure quality delivery of strategic initiatives and roadmaps. Oversee the design and development of system enhancements, new applications, and data integrations and ensure they are effectively documented so all IT and Business resources can understand the solution. Ensure all technical designs are maintained as Ruan platforms evolve. Identify technical solutions and provide guidance to management on selecting technology tools.
• Leverage technology to assess technical trends and applicability. Stay abreast of advancing technologies and share information with team members. Apply and implement current and new technologies into existing and future systems.
• Govern technology through the definition and enforcement of standards. Follow established formal procedures. Stay engaged with the Technology Governance Board and other governance activities.
• Represent Ruan in the industry and stay involved in the technology community. Serve as a technical contact for Ruan's customer base, and internal departments, in resolving and designing business solutions. Mentor and provide guidance and training to less experienced technologists.
• Partners with other technical leaders to lead the build out of Ruan's cloud architecture.
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
