Position: Direct Support Professional (DSP) Overnight 7pm-7am - Daily

Your responsibilities will include assisting with self-care, medication compliance, night routines, housekeeping, and more.

You will also help clients develop decision-making skills, schedule and attend appointments, and engage in their community.

Introducing our new work schedule

12-hour shifts with a 3 or 4-day work week. This allows for full-time work with up to 16 days off per month! You can enjoy more than half the year off while still working full-time. Additionally, we allow and encourage you to pick up extra shifts.

Job Types: Full Time or PRN

Pay:
* Average Pay $13.61 for 3 days shift with one weekend day (
Weekdays $11.67 /hour- & Premium pay Weekends $17.50/hour)

* This pay range represents Candeo's average range for this role at the time of posting based on 3 days schedule (2 weekdays & 1 weekend). Compensation offered will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to, Number days works & shift type.

  • Shifts
    :

Night : 7:00pm - 7:00am

  • 12-hour work shifts allow for full-time work and full- time benefits and have more days off per month!
What You Do:
  • Build relationships
  • Providing companionship, conversation, and engagement in activities
  • Assisting with care needs (bedtime routine, eating, cooking etc)
  • Administering medications
  • Observing, documenting, and reporting data on daily activities
  • Providing support with hobbies, studies
  • Read, write, and execute directions
  • Report changes in health and/or status of the client
  • Respond to emergency situations
  • Data entry, instant messaging, uploading documents
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in working with individuals with disabilities and mental health
  • Licenses/Requirements:
    • Valid Class C Iowa Driver’s License.
    • Proof of Automobile Insurance.
    • Must pass required background checks.
    • Access to a reliable computer and internet for documentation, or ability to travel to a location with access.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal skills, compassion, and sensitivity while maintaining professional boundaries.
    • Ability to work with multiple clients by learning their individual Life plans
    • Ability to follow detailed Individual Support Plans.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
    • Ability to work independently and demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality.

Work Environment
• Client home and community including but not limited to medical providers, retail stores, outdoor recreation, and indoor recreation
• Work and travel in all types of weather, including inclement weather
