Shift
Hours:
Days/ occasional weekend/ 2 holidays a year.
- Perform quality ultrasound procedures using proper positioning skills and technical factors, with a knowledge of the anatomical structures pertinent to patient populations from infants to geriatrics.
- Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
- Educate patients of exams being performed and obtain consent when necessary.
- Practice proper safety in accordance with established standards.
- Utilize critical thinking in daily and emergent assessment of proper protocols.
- Assess each patient for proper preparation and scanning protocol for each ordered exam.
- Follow protocols established for the Ultrasound Department.
- Observe safety precautions when handling patients, while performing examinations and while patients are in direct contact.
- Operate 2‑D, M‑mode, and Doppler ultrasound units with appropriate transducers to perform and adequately ascertain the location of specific organs, with the demonstration of recorded images that reflect the appropriate calculations for accurate measurements.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following:
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)
- If not registered, be board‑eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.
- Maintain active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 years / annual payment).
- Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training required within six months of hire and every three years thereafter.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two years thereafter.
