In collaboration with Des Moines Plastic Surgery, we have been providing medical aesthetic treatments across Des Moines and greater Iowa for over 15 years, earning the reputation as a trusted leader in the industry. Our expert providers operate under the medical direction of Dr.

David Robbins of Des Moines Plastic Surgery, the only quadruple board-certified plastic surgeon in Iowa.

We are seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a skilled, compassionate therapist who values holistic wellness and enjoys working in a collaborative, upscale clinical environment. You will deliver high-quality massage therapy services while supporting Coachlight’s mission of helping clients look, feel, and live their best.

Work Schedule:

Full time Monday - Friday and every other Saturday.

Monday: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Tuesday: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Thursday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Friday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Saturday: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (every other weekend, taking one day off the following week)

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or the equivalent required
  • Have and maintain a current state license in massage therapy in Iowa
  • Minimum one year experience providing massage services in a salon or luxury spa environment
  • Proficient in all components of massage therapy, e.g., anatomy, physiology, body mechanics and various types of massage
  • Excellent personal appearance and communication skills with a friendly, congenial personality
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, busy service environment while maintaining composure and focus on the client
  • Computer/phone/typing experience required
  • Trustworthy and responsible
  • Warm, enthusiastic and hospitable personal manner
  • Good organizational skills and detail orientation
  • Confidence in abilities and experience in dealing with client relations
  • Ability to convey a positive attitude in dealing with others, whether clients or staff members

Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent professional massage treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices
  • Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa
  • Stay current on the latest thinking pertinent to the massage treatment and become well-versed and trained in its application
  • Explain products and reasons for the prescribed body treatment to clients
  • Prepare massage equipment and supplies daily as directed
  • Maintain supply and treatment areas as directed
  • Submit supply requests to the Clinic Manager in a timely fashion to ensure proper product availability for clients
  • Ensure a pleasant visit for each client and maintain effective client relations
  • Be a patient, courteous listener, and treat all sensitive personal medical information on clients in strictest confidence
  • Be knowledgeable and informed regarding all spa, general clinic and spa programs and services
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the massage areas and spa facilities as directed
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa’s policies and procedures
  • Report for scheduled shifts promptly and be prepared for work
  • Work cooperatively and professionally with all departments
  • Promote positive client relations for all clients by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service
  • Maintain personal appearance and grooming standards consistent with the management’s standards
  • Report any problems incurred immediately to the Clinic Manager
  • Work diligently to support the Coachlight Skin Clinic & Spa hospitality and team philosophy throughout the facility
  • Comply with all departmental and company policies including HIPAA
  • Maintain confidentiality of all Coachlight Skin Clinic and Spa proprietary information
  • Promote positive client relations for all clients by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service
  • Resolve client complaints in a manner which promotes positive client relations
  • Maintain accurate property information through daily use of email and other forms of communication
  • Open the spa by coming in early at least once per week and help close down the spa at the end of your shift.
