Join Our Team as a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse. UnityPoint Health-Des Moines is seeking a dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab RN to provide direct, specialized care to patients in our Cardiac Cath Lab, working with advanced equipment and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Shift: Full time; 7a-5:30pm (10 hour days) M-F. On Call 1 to 2 nights per week and every 3rd weekend. Job . Area of Interest:

• Performs the various duties related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including scrubbing a case, documenting/monitoring, and circulating during procedure under the supervision of the cardiologist/vascular surgeon.
• Provides circulator role in the Invasive Vascular Labs as assigned.
• Oversight of circulating assistants during procedures.
• Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient’s care.
• Utilizes critical thinking in making independent judgments and maintains responsibility for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
• Assesses needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making necessary referrals for continuity of care.
• Communicates effectively with team members, physicians, nurses, radiologic technologists, clinical partners, and leaders, as well as with patients and families.
• Participates in taking on-call as assigned.
• Continues professional development by involvement in activities that enhance nursing practice and by sharing knowledge through networking and research.
• Delivers care with a holistic approach considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of patients and families served in the service area.
• Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare providers and holds them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care, consistently delivering high-quality care using the nursing process.

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Experience:
  
  Experience in critical care or telemetry preferred but not required.
• Liscensure:
  Current RN licensure in good standing with the State of Iowa.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS and ACLS certifications (or must be obtained within 3 months of hire).
• On-Call:
  Ability to participate in on-call shifts and respond within 30 minutes when called in.
