Overview
Department:

Reports To:
Assisted Living Director/Nurse Supervisor. Status:
Part-Time or Full-Time. Shift: All shifts.
The Universal Worker provides compassionate, personalized care, support, and supervision to residents in the Assisted Living and Memory Care community during overnight hours. This role supports residents’ independence, dignity, and quality of life by assisting with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe and secure environment, and ensuring accurate documentation of resident care and facility needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility as needed.
- Conduct routine safety checks and monitor residents’ well-being throughout the shift; document observations and report any changes in condition.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to resident needs, including emergencies, following established protocols.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning common areas and ensuring resident rooms are clean, safe, and orderly.
- Assist with meal or snack preparation as needed.
- Support residents with nighttime routines and promote a calm, quiet, and secure environment.
- Follow individualized service plans and communicate concerns, incidents, or updates to the nurse or supervisor.
- Adhere to all infection control, safety, and regulatory procedures at all times.
- Engage residents in meaningful interactions that provide comfort, reassurance, and emotional support.
- Participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and shift hand-offs to ensure continuity of care.
- Previous experience in assisted living, memory care, or a healthcare setting preferred.
- Compassionate, dependable, and able to work independently during overnight hours.
- Strong observation, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and meet all state regulatory requirements.
- Work in a secure Assisted Living and Memory Care setting.
- Physical demands may include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting residents.
- A calm, patient, and supportive demeanor is essential when working with individuals experiencing memory loss or dementia.
