What You’ll Do

We’re hiring for a Financial Analyst III to join our Life Pricing Actuarial team. In this role, we are looking for someone who thrives on solving unique problems with advance analytical skills and enjoys working with several internal partners and tools.

Tasks Include:

  • Participate in the maintenance, preparation and analysis of financial information used in the product development and pricing processes
  • Work with a variety of technology including R, SAS, Excel, and Integrate/MG-ALFA to set rates, analyze profitability and competitiveness, provide reinsurance support, and much more
  • Use strong technical skills to do financial research and calculations, as well as maintain and build both new and existing processes
  • Collaborate across teams, partner with product management, in‑force management, underwriting, technology teams, financial reporting, and others
  • Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as needed

Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree in math, actuarial science, finance or equivalent experience required, plus 2+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Must have strong problem solving, leadership and analytical skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills required
  • Must have good interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn, is preferred
  • Aptitude in programming languages is preferred
Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non‑sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non‑Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$73150 - $99750 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environments

This role is hiring in Des Moines and offers in‑office and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
