Job Description

The Department of Public Safety is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to lead the budget development process for a large state agency. Budget development includes preparing, entering, and maintaining the annual budget request utilizing past data analysis. A download of financial reports to track/analyze payments, receipts, and cash balances for the department to include monthly ICN and eDAS invoices will be completed daily.

This position will direct, analyze and facilitate budgeting for all divisions/bureaus of the Department of Public Safety by creating financial statements monthly which include current expenditures, current outstanding expenses, and future budget forecasts. This position will collaborate with executive management on analysis of the agency budget by leading quarterly meetings to ensure projects are on track and being invoiced as expected, income and expenditures are accurately reflected, and discuss explanations of significant budget changes.

This position will develop and maintain an analytical model for forecasting to assure financial feasibility for future projects. This model will include an extensive salary forecast and projection for over 1,000 full‑time positions, taking into account vacancy savings.
