The Position

Our bank client is seeking to fill an In-branch Mortgage Loan Officer role in the Des Moines, IA market. The successful candidate will be providing the initial step in the mortgage loan process by working all mortgage opportunities through the mortgage application phase.

The candidate will carry out lending policies as established and cross-sell products and services.

The position includes a generous salary of up to $52K plus monthly commission and an excellent benefits package.

In-Branch Mortgage Loan Officer responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in exceeding department sales goals by being constantly available to work with members during the mortgage process.
  • Interviewing for mortgage applications via outbound phone calls, inbound phone calls, and video calls to recommend suitable products and services that meet customer’s ongoing financial needs.
  • Gathering background information by interviewing loan applicants and obtaining credit reports.
  • Analyzing applicant financial status, credit history, and security offered as collateral in order to make an informed loan decision.
  • Advising or counseling customers about their financial options.
  • Educating and leading customers through the mortgage process by providing expert advice.
  • Collecting and verifies supportive documentation for loan files as required by underwriting guidelines.

  • Possess excellent verbal communication skills and mathematical reasoning ability.
