POSITION SUMMARY:

Global Atlantic’s Corporate Actuarial Team is seeking an Associate to join the team in the Boston, MA or Des Moines, IA office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in quarterly Cash Flow Testing for the company’s onshore life and annuity business, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation, validation, and delivery of results.
  • Develop, update, and maintain controls for the Cash Flow Testing process.
  • Work closely with the modeling team to implement model changes reflecting new regulatory requirements or business needs into Cash Flow Testing models.
  • Collaborate on model and assumption changes; validate and review the reasonableness of CFT impacts.
  • Coordinate with valuation actuaries to understand statutory reserves and liability assumptions; perform independent reviews of liability inputs and outputs.
  • Ensure the timely production of asset in-force files and related controls around asset listing and projections.
  • Participate in year-end statutory filings, aiding in the construction of actuarial memorandums and other regulatory submissions.
  • Support the Appointed Actuary and other leadership in evaluating and establishing actuarial accounting policies and methodologies for new and existing products.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A four-year college degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field is required.
    • An FSA designation with over four years of experience in the life/annuity insurance industry.
    • Direct experience with statutory valuation and actuarial modeling.
    • Proficiency in Python and experience handling large datasets is a plus.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ownership, adaptability, and self-motivation.

    Various jurisdictions have pay transparency laws requiring companies to provide salary ranges for open positions. Global Atlantic has offices across multiple locations including Atlanta, Batesville, Bermuda, Boston, Des Moines, Hartford, Indianapolis, and New York City. The base salary range posted reflects the lowest to highest cost of living locations.

    The base salary range is determined based on external market analysis. It constitutes one component of the total compensation package, which may include bonuses, long-term incentives, benefits, and other rewards. Actual compensation depends on geographic location, experience, education, licensure, and skills, and will be finalized at the offer stage. Senior roles may include a larger share of bonuses and incentives.
