Job Description
We are seeking a motivated CAD Technician to maintain project schedules and provide progress reports. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers and project managers to complete drafting tasks, engage in the design and drafting of engineering plans, and revise or modify drawings as needed. This role involves performing simple calculations with specific instructions and quantity calculations as directed. You will use CADD software to prepare detailed engineering drawings from sketches or verbal instructions and follow standard procedures for layering and drawing.
Responsibilities- Maintain project schedules and provide progress reports.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers on drafting tasks.
- Design and draft engineering plans.
- Revise or modify drawings as needed.
- Perform simple calculations with guidance.
- Execute quantity calculations as directed.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings using CADD software from sketches or verbal instructions.
- Follow standard procedures for layering and drawing.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D design software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with various engineering software such as Open Roads.
- Experience in civil engineering design is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
This role is primarily office-based with occasional field visits. The work location is onsite in Urbandale or Cedar Rapids. This position offers the potential for growth into a manager role throughout the duration of the project. Entry-level candidates can be trained and earn specific certifications, facilitating their advancement to lead observer and construction manager roles. Payand Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $40.00/hr.
