Base Pay Range$/yr - $/yr
Primary PurposeTo profitably investigate events, systems, devices, or failures and provide expert opinions, while offering guidance and leadership on complex engineering assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor junior colleagues on complex engineering assignments.
- Survey property, casualty, and liability losses at residential and commercial sites.
- Conduct investigations to determine root causes of events and failures.
- Work closely with engineers and investigators to produce detailed reports, drawings, and causal analyses.
- Develop plans, reports, and drawings tailored to clients’ needs and document failure analyses.
- Provide expert testimony in court or depositions.
- Determine applicable engineering practices, scopes, timelines, and cost estimates for client projects.
- Track billable hours and expenses for failure analysis and engineering projects.
- Collaborate with sales and operations managers, architects, developers, insurance adjusters, claims managers, and attorneys to generate demand for professional services.
- Leverage EFI’s national forensic team to enhance project outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and support quality programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Support the organization’s quality program(s).
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
- Eight (8) years of experience, including two (2) years in failure analysis and forensic engineering and an additional two (2) years in insurance and/or risk management services.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and PC literate.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a team.
- Capability to meet or exceed performance competencies.
