AECOM is seeking a well‑qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to support a hybrid role in multiple offices across the Greater Midwest and Greater Southwest. This position offers local impact and regional influence as part of a dynamic team that wins high‑profile projects.

• Traffic analysis, forecasting, safety studies, traffic simulation, and conceptual planning/design.
• Prepare plan sheets, specifications & estimates, technical memoranda, reports, presentations and other project documentation.
• Lead ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process.
• Serve in various roles on traffic/ITS projects, actively participating in the team’s production of technical deliverables.
• Work with early‑career staff and help review technical work and project documentation.
• Deliver assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards.
• Coordinate directly with other discipline groups within AECOM, as well as with external clients and sub‑consultants.
• Perform work in accordance with agreed‑upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently perform all tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
• Coordinate with Business Development leaders to capture project opportunities.

• BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience (equivalent education or experience).

• Minimum 5 years of experience emphasizing civil engineering fields such as traffic control design, traffic studies, ITS engineering, traffic staging within agency and DOT standards and projects.
• Registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain a PE license within 6 months.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using traffic and traffic simulation software and design platforms.
• Ability to work as part of a team or perform independent work as required.
• Good interpersonal skills, strong command of English, effective time management, and a positive attitude toward work.

The expected salary range is $87,000.00 – $ per year, based on location and individual qualifications.
