Overview
We are hiring part‑time summer interns to serve in WCC’s collegiate ministry summer programming. We are aiming to develop relationships with Spurgeon students who have a desire for pastoral and/or evangelistic ministry in domestic or global contexts. This internship will put you in the middle of participating in and learning with our staff alongside other college students from WCC and develop opportunities to evangelize and help lead other young believers.
The ideal candidate would be a Junior or Senior in Fall 2026.
Position: Walnut Creek Summer Internship
Pastoral Oversight: Caleb Thompson (Downtown) or Jon Crane (South location)
Pay: $20 per hour, 10 to 20 hours per week; host homes available.
Ideal Candidate: College Junior or Sophomore considering a career in ministry, especially those interested in learning about collegiate ministry on secular college campuses.
General Expectations- Attend Staff Training May 18–20.
- Serve alongside our college staff team with our summer programing.
- Participate in College Staff Meetings on Tuesdays.
- Work with your supervisor to develop and execute at least one ministry objective for the summer that can meet your internship or career objectives.
- Attend & participate in Walnut Creek weekly worship services.
- Participate and/or lead a Campus Fellowship weekly Bible study.
- Complete assignments given by supervisor.
- Attend, promote, and assist with the coordination of CF events.
- Complete a weekly review for your supervisor.
- Develop one ministry objective pertinent to your field of study or career aims (examples: church planting, global missions, music, production, church administration, finance, discipleship, evangelism, etc…)
- Example (Evangelism):
Initiate evangelism with other college students on a college campus. - Example (Discipleship):
Assist in shepherding students. - Example (Music):
Lead a worship three times throughout the summer. - Example (Administration):
Work alongside church staff to plan a summer outreach event.
- Regular meetings with supervisor for accountability and encouragement.
- Take personal responsibility for spiritual growth.
- Engage in regular spiritual disciplines.
- Exercise honesty and integrity in your personal life.
- Maintain healthy relationships with peers.
