Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Epic training leader and instructional design expert to modernize and elevate their Epic & IT training program. This role will supervise a team of 9 training specialists who deliver Epic and Workday-based training across clinical, ambulatory, and operational areas. You will lead a major transformation effort, redesigning how training is delivered, improving curriculum quality, incorporating clinical workflows, and preparing for multiple Epic module implementations.
This is a highly visible role within the Health Informatics division and will partner closely with Clinical Education, Operational Leaders, and IT leadership.
Responsibilities- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Epic/IT Trainers, providing ongoing coaching and performance management.
- Evaluate team skill sets and recommend changes to optimize resource alignment.
- Maintain strong communication channels, lead team meetings, and set performance expectations.
- Redesign initial and ongoing training models for providers, nurses, ambulatory staff, and Community Connect partners.
- Introduce more interactive, asynchronous, and workflow-based learning leveraging tools such as Articulate and Camtasia.
- Ensure training materials and course content stay accurate, updated, and aligned to organizational standards and foundation build.
- Oversee Epic curriculum development, delivery, test-outs, and upgrade training.
- Support Workday-based course registration and learning workflows for internal and external learners.
- Participate in training evaluations and observe training sessions to assess quality and identify improvements.
- Support the launches of multiple Epic modules (Beaker, Cupid, Research, Gallery, Willow Ambulatory, Lumens, etc.).
- Coordinate training readiness for upgrades, go-lives, and new Community Connect affiliates.
- Lead change management efforts to shift training culture and adopt new best practices.
- Partner with Clinical Education, operations, informatics, and project teams to incorporate workflows and clinical best practices into training curriculums.
