Blank Children’s Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children’s is a 108-bed environment designed for children and families.

Responsibilities
  • Clinical care:
    Primarily outpatient care with opportunities for inpatient consultation depending on the clinical interests of the candidate.
  • Participate in the education of Blank Children’s Hospital pediatric residents, and medical students from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and Des Moines University.
Opportunities
  • All teaching faculty receive a clinical appointment through the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.
  • Scholarly productivity is not a job requirement, though support for clinicians who desire to pursue quality improvement or research projects is readily available.
  • Wide latitude exists to shape your clinical case load based on your interests and career goals.
  • Work collaboratively across specialties with experts in psychiatry, psychology, developmental pediatrics, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, neurology, orthopedics, surgery, palliative care, pulmonology, and rheumatology.
  • Participate in key hospital or ACGME leadership positions.
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Adolescent Medicine
  • Hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Eligible to work in the United States
