We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician for an 18-day locum tenens assignment at a hospital in Iowa. Starting 03/09/2026, this role requires coverage of 3-24 hour shifts per pay period, with occasional 12-hour shifts. The physician will be responsible for managing both emergency department patients and inpatients at Mercy One Dyersville Medical Center, a Critical Access Hospital. Duties include handling ED patients and inpatients, utilizing the Together Care (EPIC) EMR system.
This opportunity offers a blend of emergency and inpatient care in a supportive environment with potential for extension.

Schedule: 3-24 hour shifts per pay period (7a-7a), with occasional 12-hour shifts
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Provide emergency medical care to patients
• Manage inpatient care for patients daily (observation, acute, and swing bed)
• Work 24-hour shifts with in-house coverage (provider sleep room available)
• Utilize Together Care (EPIC) EMR system for patient documentation
• Collaborate with nursing staff
• Oversee care in an Emergency Department and medical-surgical department
• Coordinate with laboratory, radiology, rehabilitation, infusion, and ambulatory surgery services
• Adapt to the needs of a Critical Access Hospital setting
• Maintain high standards of patient care and safety
Additional Information:
• Must be licensed to practice in Iowa
• Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred
• Comfortable with both emergency and inpatient responsibilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and decision-making skills required
