Job DescriptionPCI is seeking a Project Engineer for its Interior Systems operation based in Des Moines, IA
. This individual will assist in all project operations roles working with the oversight of a project manager as they advance to the point of overseeing their own projects.
- Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.
- Prepare RFI’s and submittals.
- Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders.
- Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen.
- Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation.
- Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction management is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or construction science or related discipline, or comparable work experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- A clear understanding of how to read and understand specifications and drawings.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to learn new job skills by engaging in the technical aspects of the job and applying new skills as they are taught.
- Customer service skills, such as able to work with customers and build strong relationships.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Motivated self‑starter with strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
- Works well under pressure and deadline.
- Experience with Blue Beam, Procore, and Microsoft suite
- Experience in the construction industry
- Openness to travel to jobs out of the local market in the future (Not Required)
