! In this role, the Associate Accounting Analyst supports Casey's Fuel Accounting team by performing basic accounting duties to ensure proper coordination and accounting around month end closing procedures. This role plays a key part in ensuring proper coordination across fuel accounting processes within a fast-moving, high-growth business environment.
- Performs various systematic accounting entries as well as various daily and monthly accounting functions specific to the fuel business. This includes both Accounts Payable and fuel inventory reconciliations.
- Prepares various accounting reports as requested by accounting leadership.
- Maintains a basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Analyze, initiate, and implement best practices and procedures in the accounting department.
- Operates efficiently and effectively within systems used on a day-to-day basis, including reconciling transactions by comparing and correcting data, as necessary.

Starting pay range: $54,300 - $71,300. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant work-related experience.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, theory, procedures, and standards.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Solid attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Prior internship or work experience in Accounting.
- Experience working with processing systems or accounting systems.
- Experience using Power BI, including building dashboards or visualizations.
- Exposure to fuel, retail, or consumer-industry accounting.
