Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Urbandale, Iowa. In this role, you will focus on managing and processing financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. This position is ideal for candidates experienced in handling large-scale operations within high-revenue organizations.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable invoices efficiently and accurately, ensuring proper coding and compliance.

- Manage exception handling within accounts payable processes to resolve discrepancies and maintain workflow.

- Utilize accounting software systems, including Oracle Fusion or similar platforms, to streamline financial operations.

- Perform account coding and accrual accounting to support accurate financial reporting.

- Audit payment transactions and ensure proper documentation for compliance with internal policies.

- Collaborate with team members to address and resolve vendor inquiries and payment issues.

- Oversee automated clearing house (ACH) payments and ensure timely processing.

- Handle data processing tasks related to accounts payable operations.

- Monitor and update records in software systems such as ADP and Concur.

- Support month-end closing activities by reconciling accounts payable balances.

Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable roles, preferably within organizations exceeding $1 billion in revenue.

- Proficiency with Oracle Fusion or similar enterprise-level accounting platforms.

- Strong skills in account coding, accrual accounting, and financial data processing.

- Familiarity with accounting systems such as ADP, Concur, and other financial software.

- Ability to manage accounts payable exceptions and resolve discrepancies effectively.

- Solid understanding of auditing processes and compliance standards.

- Experience with automated clearing house (ACH) payment processing.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills to handle vendor relations and team collaboration.
