About The Role

Open Loop is looking for an Accounting Manager
to join our team remotely or onsite at our HQ in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will be a key member of the finance/accounting team playing a hands‑on role in building scalable accounting processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced startup environment, is highly autonomous, and balances speed with quality.

What You’ll Do:

• Own and manage the month‑end, quarter‑end,and year‑end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
• Support GAAP‑compliant financial reporting and assist with technical accounting matters
• Partner with FP&A, Operations, and cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights
• Manage and develop a small team of direct reports, providing guidance, review, and coaching
• Assist with external audits, tax filings, and interactions with outside accounting firms
• Help design,document, and improve scalable accounting processes and internal controls
• Support system implementations and improvements (ERP, billing, expense tools, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare and regulatory requirements as applicable
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
  • 2+ years of that experience to include coaching and managing others
• Big 4 public accounting experience highly preferred
• Startup or high‑growth company experience highly preferred
• Exposure to pre‑IPO readiness, including SOX, audit readiness, highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of U.S.GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience leading, coaching and developing junior accountants and their work
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively,and move quickly without sacrificing accuracy
• Experience with managing competing priorities, and shifting smoothly to support business needs
• Comfortable operating ina high‑growth, evolving startup environment
• Excellent communicator skills, with attention to detail
