Overview
As part of the Bishop’s Gate Hotel team, you will take a leading role within our Food & Beverage department, managing The Wig & Gown Restaurant while working closely with our Wig Bar & Lounge and Banqueting operations for weddings and private events. This is a varied and hands-on management role where exceptional service, strong leadership and operational excellence are at the heart of everything you do.
The RoleWorking closely with the Food & Beverage Management team, your main duties will include:
- Overall management of The Wig & Gown Restaurant, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Leading service across the Wig & Gown Restaurant, and Beverage service within the hotel.
- Delivering exceptional service standards, with a strong emphasis on outstanding customer experience.
- Work closely with our Executive & Head Chef to create seasonal menus.
- Preparing and managing staff rotas in line with business needs and budgets.
- Managing holiday requests and ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times.
- Ensuring effective communication across the entire Food & Beverage team and between different service areas.
- Leading, motivating and inspiring the team to deliver customer-focused and sales-driven service.
- Recruitment, onboarding and induction of new Food & Beverage team members.
- Completing regular performance reviews, supporting individual development and addressing performance where required.
- Training and developing Food & Beverage staff to achieve high standards of performance and consistency.
- Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, compliance, stock control and service delivery.

Essential Criteria- Previous relevant experience in a Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager role within a hospitality environment.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering outstanding customer service.
- Proven people management experience, including rota planning and staff development.
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
- A hands-on, proactive approach with a passion for food, beverage and guest experience.
