We are partnering with an established retail business that is experiencing steady growth and innovation. They are seeking a skilled Customer Data Analyst to join their dynamic Data team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing customer data to generate actionable insights that drive strategic decision‑making and improve overall commercial performance. This role offers a hybrid working pattern, requiring presence in South Somerset for 2 to 3 days per week, providing a flexible work environment that balances collaboration with autonomy.
The core responsibility involves leveraging SQL to interrogate and analyze large datasets. The company boasts a high data quality standard, with 97% of data being clean and reliable, enabling precise and efficient analysis. The insights derived will support various business functions, including marketing, sales, and customer experience enhancement. This role is ideal for someone passionate about data‑driven decision‑making and eager to contribute to a forward‑thinking retail organization.
Qualifications- Proven experience in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and analyze large datasets effectively.
- Experience working with customer data, understanding customer segmentation, behavior, and lifecycle.
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels and translating technical insights into clear business recommendations.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Knowledge of retail or customer‑focused environments is preferred but not mandatory.
- A degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field is advantageous.
- Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze customer data to uncover trends and insights.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools to visualize data insights effectively.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including marketing, sales, and customer service to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Identify opportunities for data‑driven improvements in customer engagement and retention strategies.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the analysis process.
- Participate in data governance and quality assurance initiatives to maintain high data standards.
- Support ad‑hoc data analysis requests and contribute to ongoing data projects.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in data analytics and visualization tools.
