Refuse Collection Operative

Undertake all Refuse Collection duties (including food waste and garden waste) in all weathers as an integral part of a Municipal waste collection crew and other cleansing activity within the Derry City and Strabane District Council area.

Refuse Collection Operatives will provide municipal waste collection services in all areas within the Council district as required.

• Applicants must possess a minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience
• Experience must include dealing with members of the public.
• Experience must include working as part of a team.
• General labouring.
• Technical Competencies/Knowledge.
  
  Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety at Work.
• Knowledge and understanding of the COSHH regulations.
• It is desirable that applicants hold one of the following:
  
  -Current recognised COSHH qualification.
• Current recognised Manual Handling qualification.
• Current recognised Working Safely / Health and Safety qualification.
